Course Description

FIRST LEGO League is an international competition for elementary and middle school students. All teams participate in a robotics competition where they design and program robots to complete missions on an obstacle course related to that year’s theme. They are also given a real-world challenge to research. Teams present their solutions at a regional tournament where they compete, share their knowledge, compare ideas, and display their robots. Some teams are invited to participate in state, national, or international competitions. The FLL season culminates in an all-day Saturday regional competition in December and can go longer if the team advances beyond the regional competition. For teams that don’t advance, we use the final few weeks of the session to teach advanced robotics programming techniques that will serve the kids well in future FLL competitions. Einstein’s Workshop covers FLL team registration fee, competition entry fee, access to the competition game board, and all robotics pieces necessary to compete for its teams. If teams advance beyond the state competition, parents will be asked to cover additional expenses (travel, registration fees, etc.).

Hands-On Fun

We believe that learning is at its best when kids are excited, having fun, and exploring with other kids. Our classes encourage students to teach each other and learn together. Our lessons help students explore, grow, and gain confidence in STEAM topics. Our students gain the ability to navigate and succeed in our increasingly tech-driven society.

Project-Based Learning

Our curriculum consists of unique activities designed to teach, challenge and allow for creative exploration.

Our classes span multiple STEAM categories, encouraging students to combine learning and techniques from many disciplines in ways they don’t usually encounter in school.
