Weekly Schedule

Each week of Einstein's Workshop camp will include two topics - one topic will be taught in the morning session and one in the afternoon for the week. Unlike our Burlington site students must be signed up for a full day - there is no half day option. This allows us to provide the safety, community and learning environment that we are known for.

Week 1
August 3rd - August 7th

Grades 1 - 3: We will be selecting some of our favorite activities from Being Newton, Eureka! Fun With Things That Fly and Intro to Electronics: Fun with Circuits.

Grades 4 - 6: Make a thing! We will provide the main body of a contraption which students will customize using cardboard, foam, wire and electronics. In the past we have done the PinBox 3000, but we are going to develop some other things for this summer also.

Grades 1 - 3: Learn about building and programming simple robots with Lego in Lego Junior Engineers.

Grades 4 - 6: Build and program a Lego Mindstorms robot to navigate and complete tasks in Robotics with Lego Mindstorms.

Week 2
August 10th - August 14th

Grades 1 - 3: Learn the ever popular block based coding software Scratch. Then learn how to use a similar block based program to use the Micro:bit miniature circuit board.

Grades 4 - 6: Mods for Minecraft are a way to write your own code to alter how the game plays. Learn Code Kingdoms, a block based JAVA software for modding Minecraft.

Grades 1 - 3: Play Minecraft productively together on a server where the goal is to design and build the greatest buildings and contraptions of all time!

Grades 4 - 6: We will be playing and learning the mechanisms of the new age of Board Games, and then using what we learned to design our own games.

Daily Schedule

Each day will have a session in the morning and the afternoon. There will be a break during each session and an hour for lunch and free play. At Einstein's Workshop we know that students learn their best when they have the opportunity to work with their hands and move around so even our most computer heavy weeks will include time for students to get up and move around.
